2009 Honoree - John Reinhart

Louis F. Schultz Distinguished Service Award

It is hard to imagine what the All Sports Park would have been without John Reinhart. He was there at the beginning, planning and promoting the initial vision for the park. He was there as the park evolved and added features resulting in the wonderful mix of uses and beautiful settings enjoyed by everyone today. While it took 20 years and hundreds of volunteers, many tens of thousands of dollars in financial contributions and gifts of time and labor, Reinhart was the driving force in organizing and making things happen. It is little wonder that the park was rededicated and renamed Reinhart Volunteer Park. He played a similar vital role in creating Morrison Centennial Park.

“John Reinhart had a longstanding commitment to the youth of our community, said past Four Way board member Chris Matthews. “He worked tirelessly over the years to make our town a better place to live. He inspired others to donate their time, knowledge and hard work in making our sports and recreation parks a centerpiece of pride in our community. The laughter and joy of the children at play in our parks will forever be a tribute to his legacy.”
