Jann Taylor has devoted more than 30 years to K-12 education in Josephine County. She began her career as a middle school teacher, being named the Oregon Social Studies Teacher of the Year in 1990. For three years, she worked for the Oregon Department of Education as a Distinguished Educator, travelling to schools across the state to support school improvement work. She served as both a middle school and elementary school principal before becoming a K-12 curriculum director. Jann earned a BS and an MS in Education from Southern Oregon State University and completed her administrative certification through the University of Oregon. She currently works for Project Youth+, a local non-profit, as a College and Career Preparation Specialist. Jann and her husband, Scott, enjoy wildlife photography, adventure travel, hiking and backpacking, and scuba diving. She has never outgrown her love of horses and still competes in shows across Oregon and Northern California with her Paint gelding.
Jann says, “I love how the Four Way Community Foundation supports such a wide range of non-profits in our region. Our area is an amazing place to live and Four Way ensures the great work of so many continues.”
