Hyla Lipson

Four Way Community Foundation Board Member
From 2025

Hyla grew up in Denver, moved to California after graduating high school, and eventually became an Oregon “native” 42 years ago. Her eclectic vocational career’s central theme has always been marketing and communication. She is a known connector and is always trying to figure out ways of putting people together for common goals. Her longest career was as co-owner of Fiberoptic Lighting. She and her partner John ran the company for 36 years, most of those years in Grants Pass. The company manufactured fiber optic displays that were sold all over the world. Travel, tradeshows, and tenacity were the main themes of those years. Following the closure of the company, Hyla joined the Grants Pass Museum of Art as its Executive Director. She has been involved in many nonprofit boards over the years and enjoys helping the community. She was president of the Rotary Club of Grants Pass in 2008-2009. Her partner John of 38 years and she share a dog named Roxy. Her daughter, Courtney is an artist and lives in Bellingham, WA. Her son, Evan lives in Medford and has an adorable 8 year old daughter – which makes Hyla a proud grandmother.

Hyla says, “I have engaged with the Four Way Community Foundation for years. First as a guest at events and eventually as a recipient of grant funds for the museum. It is a huge joy to now be part of the board. I am very honored.”
